Continuity: While Bella is in the hospital (for the second time) it shows the first shot of her eyes and nose. She has oxygen tubes running to her nose. The tubes are over top of her eyes, but when the camera zooms out the tubes are nowhere near her eyes. Then it zooms back in and the tubes are at her eyes again, and so on.


Crew or equipment visible: Kristen Stewart's microphone was clearly visible between the hem of her shirt and the waist of her pants when Charlie takes Bella to her bedroom in the beginning.


Continuity: When Edward drops Bella off at the police station on the way back from Port Angeles, she doesn't have her bag, which contained the book she picked up from the book store that she uses later on to research the "cold ones".


Continuity: In the scene where Edward and Bella are on the rocks and Bella asks Edward if anyone else in his family can read minds too. Bella has mittens on and in the next shot they are off and laying in her lap.


Revealing mistakes: When Charlie gives Bella the mace, he hands her a green can. Green cans are inert and used for training purposes.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: The vampires are revealed to sparkle when exposed in the sun. However, when Edward and Bella come to school, he is seen to be wearing sunglasses, an item that would not be necessary if he was trying to avoid the sun. However, it's clear he is wearing them as a fashion accessory.


Continuity: In the baseball scene, Rosalie's hair changes between shots. In some, her hair is shown to be neatly curled, in other shots, it is shown to have lost its curl almost in its entirety, and so on.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Edward is lying next to Bella on her bed, light is coming in through her window and hitting his face, chest, and hand, but they are not sparkling. However, that is the effect that the sun has on vampires, but the light that hits him in this scene is moonlight - the scene takes place at night.


Continuity: When Bella is in the forest to confront Edward on who he is the flap on his right shoulder of the jacket Edward is wearing is buttoned down, in the following scene, unbuttoned, then buttoned again.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Edward is telling Bella how much he could hurt her, his hand on the tree goes from being flat against it, to resting on his fingers and back again. However, in the the books vampires are much faster than humans and Edward could have easily moved his hand without it being seen on film.


Revealing mistakes: In the scene with Edward and Bella talking in the cafeteria (when she drops the apple and he catches it) it is apparent that he has pit stains. Vampires don't sweat.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Bella is confronting Edward about being a vampire, there are what appears to be visible bite marks on the left side of his neck. However, these are moles, not bite marks.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: There's a scene where Edward and Bella are talking in the forest, it's raining heavily and they are soaking wet. Soon after they are shown talking in another forest location, and appear to be completely dry. This could, however, indicate the passage of time, especially given their change of clothes. It is therefore assumed that their conversation takes place over several days.


Continuity: It's been stated many times that the vampires do not change at all, ever. Yet Edward has varying degrees of stubble throughout the film.


Miscellaneous: In the final credits, "Emmett" is misspelled.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the scene in the garage, Edward asks Rosalie and Esme to put on Bella's clothing to mislead the tracker. Edward is shown throwing clothes towards Esme. Esme was in the scene for quite a while, getting stuff in the background. She was just out of frame when he actually addressed her.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the garage scene, Rosalie and Emmett are seen putting their belongings in Emmett's jeep and getting in. In the next shot, the jeep is no longer in the garage, and the two cars being taken are Rosalie's convertible and Carlisle's Mercedes. However, the jeep hasn't left the garage yet - it's just out of frame in the next shot. Esme takes Rosalie's convertible which is why it leaves the same time as Carlisle's Mercedes.


Continuity: In the meadow scene, Edward and Bella are lying very closely together at first, but when the shot switches, they are suddenly quite a bit farther apart even though they appear not to have moved.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Edward says in the movie that vampires never sleep but when Bella wakes up from sleeping in the hospital he also appears to be sleeping. In fact, he was pretending to sleep in order to appear normal, and give Bella and her mom privacy to talk.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the very last scene, Victoria turns to leave the balcony overlooking the gazebo where Bella and Edward are dancing, with her hair tied up. As the camera cuts to her leaving down the stairs, her hair can be seen flowing behind her. However, Victoria actually reaches up and pulls out her hair pin just as she reaches the top of the stairs.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the scene where Bella goes to the ballet studio to give herself up for her mother, James the vampire is visible in all of the mirrors. As the legend goes, vampires' reflections are not supposed to be seen in mirrors. Yet both the movie and books often diverge from traditional vampiric legends, such as mirror reflections, burning in sunlight, wooden stakes, repelling from crosses, and so on.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Charlie takes Bella to her room you see three naked Barbies in her room. One is on her desk under the bulletin board and the other two are on the wall behind her, near the bulletin board. As the movie continues they have disappeared. As Bella makes the room her own with her own items, it is inevitable that she moves things around, including the Barbies.


Errors in geography: Right before the scene when Edward drops Bella off at the Police Station a police truck from Clackamas County pulls out of the lot. Clackamas County is in Oregon, not Washington.


Continuity: When Charlie is telling Bella that the security guard had been killed by the "animal," you can clearly hear that it is raining but neither Bella nor Charlie are getting wet and no rain can be seen.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Alice pitches to both Rosalie (for the 2nd time) & Jasper in the baseball scene, the runner is running from second base before she even throws the ball. Then after both have hit the ball, the runner is seen again just leaving second base. It has been claimed that the same shot was used twice, however on Jaspers hit, Emmet catches the ball, which would send Carlisle back to second to tag up. As vampires are so quick, he wouldn't have time to tag up and make it to third. Therefore, on Rosalie's second at bat, he is still on second.


Revealing mistakes: Throughout the entire movie the vampires' contact lenses are clearly visible in close ups. For example, during Bella's flashback after the car accident, you see a close-up of Edward's eye - the outer rim of the contacts Robert Pattinson is wearing is distinctly visible.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Bella is in the ballet studio, she smacks her head against the wall and begins to bleed; however, when she's shown in the hospital, her head is not bandaged. However, you do not get bandaged when you hit your head and cut it - you usually only get staples or stitches, and those are not visible.


Continuity: During the Ballet Studio scene, when some of the Cullens arrive to help Edward fight James we see Emmett, Alice & Jasper jump from a balcony to the ground below. In the wide shot we see Alice land while the other two are still falling, but then in the next shot we see all three of them land at the same time.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Throughout the movie you can see the vampires' breath. In theory this should not happen as vampires are so cold, but in the book Edward states they can still do it because breathing also enhances their ability to smell and helping them blend in as 'normal'.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Edward brings Bella to meet his family, Rosalie (Nikki Reed) is wearing gloves to protect her hands from the shatter-bowl she is holding. However, this could also have been a normal accessory to her outfit, much like a jacket or coat, in an effort to appear human; especially considering the temperature of Forks, Washington.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: After Edward saves Bella from car crash, she overhears him, Carlisle and Rosalie talking in the hospital. vampires usually so fast and low that human ears cannot understand it, but they can also talk quickly and quietly - in this instance there were other people around, thus the reason they were talking "human".


Continuity: Throughout the film, dark roots on Rosalie's would show in one scene and then disappear in another due to the fact Nikki Reed's is naturally very dark instead of blonde.


Continuity: When Bella confronts Edward, her red book bag on the left of the screen seems to flip and move around in different shots on the scene.


Revealing mistakes: In one of the forest scenes Edward has his sleeves rolled up and you can clearly see that he has a tan. Vampires are shown in the film to have white skin (except Laurent).


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: James, Laurent and Victoria not noticing the fact Bella was human when they first arrived at the baseball field. Not only would they smell her blood (James in particular, being a tracker) but their enhanced hearing would allow them to hear her heart beating. However, in the books, the three arrive at the baseball field, and are there for a few minutes before the wind blows Bella's scent to them, alerting them that she is human.


Revealing mistakes: In a scene in the lunch room, Emmet is clearly seen chewing on food. It has been stated time and time again in the books that vampires do not eat, and their food always remained untouched during lunch. Indeed, Stephenie Meyer mentions on her website that they kept having to redo those scenes because Emmett kept eating.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Victoria's presence going unnoticed at prom. Edward can read minds, Alice can see the future and all of the Cullen's have enhanced vampire senses so the chances of her going by unnoticed is highly unlikely. However, Alice can only see when the path is certain, and Edward can block people out of his mind, so this is possible. Edward is slightly preoccupied at the moment, and thinks the situation has been resolved. Therefore, neither he nor Alice would be "looking" for Victoria to be at the prom.


Revealing mistakes: In the scene with Edward and Bella lying in the grass, you can see Edward's carotid pulsating. In the 'Twilight' books, vampires do have hearts, but they do not beat.


Continuity: At the prom Bella and Edward see Jessica and Mike. Bella motions to Jessica then they turn and walk away with their backs facing them. Bella and Edward walk through the crowd, seeing Tyler dancing, then they see Angela and Eric. When the scene comes back to Bella and Edward you can clearly see Jessica dancing right behind them even though she would have been on the other side of the room.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: When Edward and Bella are in the car and she says she's warm enough they both go to touch the button, but you can see an early reaction on Edward pulling himself back a bit before they even show him pulling his hand away. This is due to the fact that Edward continually forgets to act human around Bella, especially after crisis. He forgot that his skin was so cold, but then remembered it at the last moment and tried to pull away normally.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: In the scene where Bella's mom asks her about the new guy she apparently likes, next to Bella's head you can see what looks like half a woman's head on the left of Bella. This is, however, just Bella's shadow.


Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In the final scene when Victoria turns around from watching Bella and Edward at the prom her face/eyes clearly look as if she's been crying, presumably because her mate has been killed. A vampire cannot cry and the skin around her eyes could not become pink as if she had. (In the book 'Breaking Dawn', the vampires do not cry or shed tears. Bella states that 'So this is how it feels to cry', but neither she nor any other vampire cry.)


Continuity: When Jacob confronts Bella at the prom scene she is shown in just her dress. A couple of shots later when Edward cuts in, she has a sweater on.


Incorrectly regarded as goofs: After Bella is out of the hospital she still wears a leg brace when she is heading to prom. But she doesn't have any bandage or mark on her right arm from when she was bitten. However, the venom that changes human to vampire heals the body in that process, thus also the skin. There might be a scar, but the wound would certainly be healed well enough for Bella to go without bandages.

Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.

Continuity: SPOILER: In the ballet studio, James clearly breaks Bella's right leg. However, in the hospital, Bella's right leg is not covered by the blankets and reveals only bandaging on her thigh; her left leg is covered and appears to be straight and in a cast. In the following scene (prom), it's her right leg in a cast. [b]

WOW! Those are a ton of mess ups! And yet most people are so into the movie that you don't notice it. Now I'm going to have to pay attention. I'm gonna go watch it now. Hehe

Hmmm I've noticed that Bella leaves her truck window down on the first day of school... in the rainest place in the continental US??? LOL

That and I don't think she'd be wearing the gloves as an accessory in her own home. Even if I wore gloves to go with an outfit I'd take them off inside my own home. But I figured that the gloves were an attempt to protect Nikki's hands. Loved her boots in that scene.

Unlike the book, the film's timeline doesn't add up. According to Bella's narration, she arrives in Forks sometime in March (the middle of the school semester). About a week later and immediately after Bella's accident, Mike invites her to the "Monte Carlo" prom, which he says is a month away. Soon after, when Edward is in Bella's bedroom, he tells her he has been watching her while she's asleep for, "the past couple of months." The following events - Bella getting to know Edward and his family, the nomadic vampires arriving and James pursuing Bella to Phoenix, and Bella in the hospital and recovering from serious injuries (broken leg, severed femoral artery, blood loss) would take far more than a month (or even two) to when we see Bella and Edward at the prom.


Found that one interesting. They do kinda rush it too much in the movie to where it doesn't add up right.

That's an excellent point...it took my son 12 weeks each to recover from both his broken femurs. And I realize that James broke her tibia but it would take at least 6 weeks to recover from the broken bone. It was very rushed. I had never caught that before.

Yeah, I was reading up on some of it today. And I found that one interesting. I also never really thought about it. If I find anything else I'll post it for you all to see.

Most of the time you won't. You have to watch it a couple of times just to see past being Cullen love struck.

There's another continutiy errror....when they are at the compost place and Mr.Molina pours a glass of "compost tea" he fills the glass to the top but when he turns and Tyler takes it it's only 1/2 to 3/4 full.

That was one part that was gross. Maybe they had to pour some of it out because he kept spilling it. Hehe

I could just imagine Tyler drinking it....*making face like i want to gag* ewwwwwwww

Yeah didn't like the whole field trip thing in the movie

I didn't really see the point of the field trip being put into the movie either...except to throw enviromental awareness into the story, I also didn't like that everytime Bella and Charlie ate it was at the diner....

Did anyone else catch the fact that the day after the "accident" Bella goes into the kitchen after school and Charlie is there...she gets a drink of water from the sink...but there's an open case of bottled water on the counter.
